One Month

Our sweet baby boy is one month old! While I can't believe that it has already been a month, I also cannot picture our life without him in it.

Weight: 10 pounds 9 ounces
Length: 22 inches
  • At one month old, you normally go 4-5 hours between feedings. When you eat, you are the loudest baby! Your dad and I think that you make sounds like a little lamb when you are eating. You do not like it when I make you stop eating to burp, but you always feel better once you do...Mommy knows best! :)
  • At only 2 weeks old, you had already outgrown your newborn diapers. You can still fit into most of your newborn clothes, but you are quickly outgrowing them as well.
  • You have had quite a few explosive poops! One time, you almost shot it from your changing table to the kitchen! You love it when we take your diaper off, but hate when it's time to put it back on.
  • Your favorite way to fall asleep is when you laying on Mommy or Daddy's chest...this is our favorite too! You also love being rocked and sung to when you are getting sleepy.
  • You are already a very strong boy! When you are lying on the floor on your belly, you can already lift your head up to look from one side to the other. You also are getting much stronger at holding your head up to look around when we are holding you.
  • You love being in your car-seat... you love driving around in the car or taking a walk in your stroller.
  • You make the sweetest coo's and noises that melt Mommy's heart!

Getting Started

Hello friends and family! I decided to start this blog after a year of huge life changes...

I have quickly realized how fast time can go by. I can't believe that Robert is only 1 month away from med school graduation. Over the past 4 years that he has been in school, our lives have drastically changed. When he started school in August of 2009, we were only dating. By December of that year, we were an engaged couple, and by July of 2010, we were married. The past 3 years of married life have been better than I could have ever imagined!

Then, on March 21st, our lives changed again...we became parents to a beautiful, healthy baby boy. Jeffrey Davis Nichols was born and we became a family of three. We couldn't be more in love with our sweet Davis.

With the end of med school comes the beginning of residency. After a very stressful matching process, Robert matched for an anesthesiology residency at UTMB Galveston. This means we are in store for yet another huge life change...we will be moving from our beloved Fort Worth. Not only are we leaving a city that we both have grown up in and loved dearly, but we will be leaving our family and friends that have been such a blessing to have just minutes away at all times.

While this  move to the Galveston area is a big step for us, and I must admit, we are both quite nervous about it.... we are also very excited! We are excited for Robert to be out of school, excited to meet new people, and excited to really grow closer together as a family.

I wanted to start this blog to document all of our steps in this new adventure. Since we will be moving away from our family and friends, I hope that this blog can be a window into our weekly life in our new home.

Let the adventure begin...or continue...
