2 months

Little man is 2 months old already! Where does the time go?

Weight: 11 pounds 7 ounces
Length: 24 1/2 inches (95th percentile!!)

  • You started to really smile at us around 5 weeks, and it is the greatest thing in the world!
  • After your morning feeding, you are the happiest little boy! You always smile, laugh, and coo at us, and kick your legs and wave your arms as fast as possible.
  • Your neck is getting so much stronger and you can hold it up on your own for a while before you get tired and plop it back down.
  • You have been sleeping about 8.5 to 9 hours at night! Still not completely on your own yet...you go the first 6-7 hours on your own, and then Daddy lets you sleep with him for the last 2 hours...we'll get there.
  • You are still eating a lot! You will feed every 3-3.5 hours during the day and will eat for 30-40 minutes every time!
  • You have moved up to size 2 diapers and are already fitting in most of your 3 month outfits. No more newborn baby.
  • This month you had your first road trip...not the best experience...
  • You had your first experience with Texas spring storms and tornado warnings. You loved watching the weather maps and seeing all of the red, orange, and green colors move across the screen.
  • You went to a hooding ceremony and party to celebrate your Daddy becoming a doctor! You also had your first babysitter for the graduation ceremony. Mommy had to leave you for the first time for about 4 hours!
You are already growing so fast and it is so fun to have you interact with us more and more each day! Next month is a big month, you will be moving to a new home and a new city!

Dr. Robert H. Nichols

This past weekend, Robert officially became Dr. Robert H. Nichols, D.O.!!!
I could not be more excited and proud of my amazing husband of all of his hard work. He is going to be an incredible doctor!

These are pictures from his hooding ceremony, graduation, and celebration party! It was such a special weekend and we were so thankful to have so many family members and friends there to share it with us!

Houston

This weekend we traveled down to Houston to find a place for our little family to live next year. The drive down went well and we stayed at Dave and Kim's house. It was so nice of them to let us stay there, and we loved getting to spend time with them and with Jackson, Trent, and Lilly. We are looking forward to getting to spend much more time with the White family when we make our official move in June.

Apartment hunting was a very long and tedious process, but after 3 days of hunting, we found our future home! We decided on the Brompton Court Apartments located in the West University neighborhood. We will be in a 1302 square foot apartment which will be a huge upgrade from our current 802 square foot apartment. While we are so excited to be getting the MUCH NEEDED extra space, it is sad to be leaving the comfort of Fort Worth...especially after battling the awful traffic on I-45! Our official move in date is set for June 7th which will be here before we know it.
We can't wait to be in our new apartment with all of our things so that we can start making Houston feel like our new home! :)

The drive home from Houston was one of the longest car trips of my life! It took us about 7 hours to make it back to Fort Worth...poor baby was not a happy camper and didn't want to be in his car seat. It was tough to hear him cry and not be able to take him out of his seat to hold him. He did a great job on the way down, but just not on the way home. I decided that he did this because he already loves his new home in Houston so much he just didn't want to leave! :)

Robert and I ordered Chinese food last week and we both got fortunes that were very fitting for this time. "Adventure can bring happiness." and "Now is the right time to make new friends." Finding little things like this makes me very excited for all that is to come in the next couple of months.

Here are some pictures of our new home!

Outside

The weather has been so pretty the past few weeks and we have learned that our sweet little boy LOVES to be outside! He really enjoys going out on the balcony for some fresh air and loves going on walks on the trail.

We also went outside last week to take our first bluebonnet picture as a family. Thank you CC for taking our picture! ...It will be fun to take these each year and see how much he grows.
