Recent pictures

I have been really bad at staying on top of the blog lately, so here is a collection of recent pictures.

The biggest change in our daily routine has been the introduction of solid foods! So far we have tried and liked: sweet potatoes, butternut squash, avocado, peas, and corn...avocado is his clear favorite! He also loves eating "Mum-Mums" (rice cereal bars) and learning to drink water from a big cup!

We love our sweet boy so much and love seeing more of his precious personality develop every day! He is getting so big! :)

Bath time is still our favorite time of the day.

And of course, we have loved watching and cheering on our favorite team...GO TCU!

Family Visits

The past 2 weekends have been great! We had visits from Nana and Grandpa and then from Papa and Gigi. We always love it when family is able to come down and visit. Davis loves all the extra hugs and kisses he gets from his sweet grandparents!

When Nana and Grandpa were in town, we made a trip to the downtown aquarium and walked through the Rice campus.

The next weekend, Papa and Gigi came down for a visit. We had a great time walking around Rice Village and going to brunch at one of Mommy's favorite places! (I wasn't very good at taking pictures this weekend...sorry!)

Can't wait to see everyone again in just a couple of weeks! Davis is already counting down the days!! :)

6 months

Happy half birthday!!

Weight: 16 pounds 9 ounces
Length: 27 1/2 inches

  • You can sit up all on your own! If distracted by your toys, toes, or other things to look at, you will slowly fall on your back or to the side.
  • You are trying very hard to crawl. It looks like more of an inch worm right now though. You have figured out how to get your knees up and under you, but instead of lifting your chest up off the ground, you just scoot your face into the floor until you get where you want to be....it's something we're working on!
  • You have started to make diaper changes and getting dressed very difficult because you can flip over within a second and don't stop trying to wiggle away the whole time we try to change you.
  • You are wearing 6 month clothes and have just moved into size 3 diapers.
  • You LOVE being in your exersaucer! Things you also love: being outside (even though it's still very hot out), reading books, your lovies, any music/light up toy, and your nighttime bath.
  • This month you started eating solid foods! We started with rice cereal and oatmeal, but you hated them both! After about a week of trying and eventually moving on to veggies, you now love to eat solid food.
  • You have TEETH! Teething has not been fun for any of us, but you have 2 little bottom teeth that have come all the way through the gums. They are so cute, but really hurt when you bite down on our fingers.
  • You have started to become even more vocal...favorite word: MAMA!! It melts my heart every time you say it, which is now a lot, over and over! You make the sweetest little noises and giggles. Daddy can really get you laughing. You love it when he comes home everyday and makes you smile and laugh by making silly noises.

We cannot believe that 6 months have already flown by! Your first birthday will be here before we know it! The past 6 months have been the best months of our lives, we love watching you grow and discover the world around you. You are the sweetest little boy and we love you SO MUCH!
